Ingal Civil are pleased to announce the ASBAP acceptance of the Ingal Motorcyclist Protection Rail has now been extended to include its use on the Ezy-Guard system, making it the only rubrail barrier permitted for use on all W-Beam barriers across Australia.
2015 was another bad year for vulnerable road users, ending with 202 motorcyclist fatalities nationally, representing a 6% increase on 2014. Systems like the Ingal MPR are designed to protect these motorcyclists from impacting some of the hazards introduced by four-wheel vehicle guardrail systems. The Ingal MPR combined with Ezy-Guard make it the most motorcycle friendly barrier system available to the market.
The Ingal MPR has been fully crash tested and evaluated in accordance with Standards UNE 135900-1 and 2 and UNE EN-1317-1 and 2, and has produced satisfactory results in the full scale dummy and vehicle crash tests. The dummy tests recorded an impact severity of Level 1 which is the lowest severity for this testing standard. Full scale vehicle testing of the system was also conducted when installed on the Ezy-Guard barrier, this was an 1100kg vehicle impacting the barrier at 100km/h. The results of the test were fully compliant with the evaluation criteria for MASH Test 3-10, with excellent vehicle stability seen throughout the impact.
