Victorian BCT Terminal

The Leading Slotted Breakaway Cable Terminal (BCTA) is designed to provide a soft gating impact to prevent the end rail from spearing an impacting vehicle. The BCTA is installed on a parabolic offset with breakaway posts to minimise the potential for vehicle penetration.

The BCTA also introduces tensile and flexural strength necessary to ensure redirection performance of the length-of-need section.

The Trailing Slotted Breakaway Cable Terminal (BCTB) is intended to provide anchorage for the barrier. It is not crashworthy terminal when struck head-on, since it is not designed to break away.
